SONGS writer, The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye), has been featured in a recent publication of The New York Times Magazine. The story discusses Tesfaye's past, his hit duet with Ariana Grande, as well as an encounter with legendary Michael Jackson producer, Quincy Jones. Check out an excerpt below and read the full story, here.

"...over the last six months, the Weeknd has become one of the most reliable hitmakers in pop. ‘Earned It,’ a soothing ballad he wrote for the ‘50 Shades of Grey’ soundtrack with, among others, Stephan Moccio, a songwriter who has worked with Celine Dion, went to No.3 on the Billboard Hot 100. By mid-July, Tesfaye had three songs in the Top 20 — ‘Earned It,’ as well as the first two singles from the new album, ‘The Hills’ and ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’ Radio, so long hostile to his voice, had fully embraced him, yanking Tesfaye from the dark into the light." - Read More

With multiple hits on his hands, The Weeknd has announced a follow-up to 2013’s Kiss Land, titled Beauty Behind The Madness. The album is available for pre-order on iTunes and charted #1 just a day after the pre-order went live. It currently remains in the top 15. “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills” are top 10 on the iTunes songs chart.

The Weeknd reached new peaks in the top 10 on the Hot 100 this week, while rising 3-1 on the Billboard Artist 100. “Can’t Feel My Face” charted #2 as the week’s greatest Airplay Gainer and is currently the #1 Shazamed song in the US! The single is charting #3 at Pop radio, #1 at Rhythmic and #26 in UK singles. “The Hills” charts at #10 on the Hot 100.
